Bombardino is a Bath Bomb and it smells of rich lemon cheesecake. It has Cocoa Butter to soften the skin in addition to Sicilian lemon oil and Fair Trade vanilla absolute to give the bath a sweet and delicious fragrance.

Secret Santa Bath Bomb

Secret Santa

Secret Santa is a Bath Bomb and is modeled on the original LUSH shop. It smells of soothing sandalwood, zesty lime and beautiful floral oils and it reminds me of the typical Lush fragrance as you step into one of their stores. {Mine got a bit broken somehow!}

Candy Mountain

Candy Mountain is a Bubble Bar and it creates heaps of fluffy, fragrant, pearly white bubbles with a drift of pink. All you have to do is, crumble it in your bathtub for some absolute guilt-free pleasure.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Snow Fairy

This fruity, sugary and sparkly shower gel takes you to the candy floss world. It has a sweet, magical scent of soothing and comforting vanilla with flecks of blue glitter that leave you shimmering. You can wash your hair as well as body with it.

Ponche Shower Gel

This shower gel has tequila in it! This fruity, softening shower gel is inspired by Mexican fruit punch made from seasonal fruits such as plums, oranges, cinnamon and vanilla and is meant to warm and stimulate the senses. Like Snow Fairy, you can wash your hair as well as body with it.

Lush Golden Fun

Golden Fun

Golden Fun is a Bubble bar and looks like a bar of gold! Santa’s Lip Scrub

This lip scrub has castor sugar to gently exfoliate away any dry skin from the lips in addition to extra virgin coconut oil for moisturizing and leaving them soft and conditioned. It smells like fizzy cola.

LUSH Cupcake Fresh Face Mask Review

Today I am reviewing one of LUSH’s fresh face mask called CUPCAKE :) Such a wonderful name for a face mask, isn’t it!

Just to give you a background, Lush’s fresh face masks are handmade and preservative free. My Cupcake Fresh Face Mask was made right in front of me. It has a shelf life of approximately 3 weeks and has to be stored in the refrigerator.

This is what Lush has to say about the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask:

Chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin. Its action removes excess oil and calms breakouts. Rhassoul mud cleans and soothes, linseed, cocoa butter and cocoa powder soften the skin. Balancing peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils complete this effective and delicious experience.

How to use the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask:

Take it out of the fridge and apply it on your entire face leaving the eyes and mouth. Make sure you have cleaned your face before applying the mask. It has to be applied on clean skin.

How long should you leave the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask on the face:

Approximately 5-10 minutes. It should dry or be almost dry pretty much within that time frame.

How to remove the mask:

Use warm water to take the mask off.

How does the Cupcake Face Mask smell:

It smells like CHOCOLATE, chocolate with a hint of mint, to be precise.

How does it feel on the face:

It feels like the BESTEST THING EVER. I had to resist the urge to eat it. It smells yummy. And it is so so refreshing on the face.

Lush Cosmetics Review by Top Sydney Beauty Blogger

My views and opinion about Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask:

1. For me, it has turned out to be my PERFECT Face Mask.

2. It deeply cleanses the skin and helps clean out the pores.

3. It did not dry out my skin but made it baby soft and smooth.

4. I loved how my face felt after using this face mask.

5. I have a combination skin type, with some areas of my face being dry, some oily and some normal. This face mask made me feel evened out with the entire face feeling normal, baby soft and smooth. No dryness or oiliness.

6. It smells so so good!

7. It leaves the face so refreshed.

LUSH Blogger Event {Sydney} – Cruelty Free Christmas

A few days ago I attended the Lush bloggers event in Sydney and had an awesome time! I’m a huge fan of Lush products already, so I was so excited to head to their store event and learn more about their yummy products! It was great meeting all the gorgeous fellow beauty bloggers, some of the best in Sydney.

We started the evening with a small chat about the ethics behind Lush and then it was time to get introduced to their limited edition Christmas products. We had a cozy face mask making demonstration and learnt to make a fresh face mask called Cupcake. It smells like yummy chocolate, by the way.

We had yet another hands-on workshop called Furoshiki Wrapping involving beautiful scarves which can be turned into lovely flower headbands and beautiful bags, ideal for putting gifts in during this Christmas season.

This or That Beauty Tag

Hello beautiful people! I have seen a ‘This or That Beauty Tag’ floating around recently and thought of giving it a go. I have always loved fun tags!

This or That Beauty Tag

This or That Beauty Tag

blush or bronzer: Blush. I am yet to figure out the art of bronzing.
lip gloss or lipstick: Umm… I am a gloss person only if it is Lancome Juicy Tubes. Out of all the different brands of gloss I have tried, these are the only ones I love. If it is too windy, I opt for lipsticks, mainly because I don’t want my hair to get stuck on my lips.
eye liner or mascara: Mascara. I suck at applying eye liner. And especially with the liquid ones. Prefer the gel ones though and those that resemble a pen or come with a felt tip.
foundation or concealer: I prefer using both. But if I have to go with just one, then it is foundation, hands down!
neutral or color eye shadow: Colour eye shadows! Although either ways, I am yet to learn the art of applying eyeshadow properly.
pressed or loose eye shadows: Pressed. Never tried loose eye shadows.
brushes or sponges: Brushes!

OPI or china glaze: I haven’t tried any of these. I have tried only 3 brands of nail polishes – Revlon, Sally Hansen and Maybelline, in the recent years.
Long or short: Short. And sometimes somewhere between long and short.
Acrylic or natural: Natural. Never tried acrylic.
Brights or darks: I love brights!
Flower or no flower: I don’t know what this means!

perfume or body splash: Perfumes, baby! I love them. Never tried body splash.
lotion or body butter: Lotion. Never tried body butter.
body wash or soap: Body wash
lush or other bath company: I usually use Dove body wash. Yet to try others.

jeans or sweat pants: Jeans!
long sleeve or short: Depends on my waxing situation and the weather. Prefer short sleeves though.
dresses or skirts: Skirts. Trying to graduate to dresses.
stripes or plaid: Stripes!
flip flops or sandals: Sandals!
scarves or hats: Scarves. Just can’t get around to wear a hat for long periods of time. I wear it for a while and then it is in my hands.
studs or dangly earrings: Dangly earrings. Occasionally, studs!
necklaces or bracelets: Necklaces. I have had a phase long ago when I used to have a arm party and pile on bracelets. Now, since many years I like my wrists free. I do however wear 2 thin gold bangles on my arm every day which my mum had given to me when I got married.
heels or flats: I love heels, but I prefer comfort. Hence, flats!
cowboy boots or riding boots: Err… I don’t know what’s this and what’s that. Hence, can’t say!
jacket or hoodie: Jackets! At home, hoodies!
forever 21 or charlotte russe: Never tried any of these!
abercombie or Hollister: Err… I don’t know what these are!
saks 5th or nordstrom: Well, yet to try either of these!

curly or straight: I prefer my hair straight, which usually it isn’t! It’s mostly wavy unless and until I make an effort to straighten it out after every wash. I do, however prefer nice bouncy curls occassionly.
bun or ponytail: Buns! A messy bun – not out of choice those! Try to master the art of getting a nice beautiful bun!
bobby pins or butterfly clips: Bobby pins, but hardly ever use them! What are butterfly clips?
hair spray or gel: Hair Spray! But neither of these fall in my ‘at home’ routine!
long or short: Long! It’s been eons since I’ve had short hair.
light or dark: Dark!
side sweep bangs or full bangs: Sometimes this, sometimes that. Prefer side ones, but occasionally end up with full bangs!
up or down: Usually, down! Always up, when I am at home!

Rain or shine: Shine!
Summer or winter: I would say ‘spring’! I don’t like it when it is too cold or too hot!
Fall or spring: The ever beautiful spring!
Chocolate or vanilla: Chocolate! I like vanilla too!
East coast or west coast: I live on the east coast of Australia. Hence, east!

I would like to tag anyone and everyone who wants to take up this fun tag! You can send me your links in the comment box below and I would love to hop over and read up your blog post!

How to get silky straight hair in a jiffy {at home}

You know the kind of hair you are envious about. The kinds that make you wonder, why not me! I have always had hair envy. I fall into the category of thick + frizzy + voluminous + wavy + limp hair. Every time I dry my hair after a wash, the sheer volume drowns me. I look like the devil’s wife. No, seriously. And I look at all the women with beautiful hair. Sigh! God’s gift indeed. Until someone on my Instagram list with the most beautiful hair, uttered the word ‘ghd’. She went on to tell the story of her hair; her description comprised the kind of ‘kind’ words I use for my hair. ‘I can’t imagine myself without my ghd’, she said.

That’s it. ghd it is. I searched (googled, i mean) and found that ghd is synonymous with great hair. Apparently, these are the most desired straighteners by women, and even men.

But I am not the kinds who would believe things just like that. For me, the proof is in the pudding. In this case, my hair. Can this ghd actually make me feel nice about my tresses. I am no Rapunzel, you know.

ghd has a whole lot of stylers and straighteners. We teamed up with the cool folks at ghd to check out the Jewel Styler from their limited edition collection. They have two colours in this range – Sapphire and Amethyst. After much confusion and discussion with BA, we did not arrive at a decision as to which one should be my colour. Yes, I know; first world problems. Mother Awesome was therefore summoned to intervene. Amethyst, she said. Word.

Here is a bit of information direct from their website about the ghd Jewel Styler.

  • Advanced ceramic heater technology for smoother, shinier results
  • Universal voltage for consistent performance when travelling
  • Smooth black plates with a hint of sparkle for snag-free styling
  • Contoured plates for easier curls and waves
  • Extra long 2.7m swivel cord for freedom during styling

BEFORE & AFTER ghd Jewel Styler

Testing the magic of ghd. Here I am with my just washed hair – dried hair which makes me look like a witch ready to march on a broom – and then my silky soft straight and tamed ghd hair.

{I usually do my hair before my makeup. Hence I am not wearing makeup in these photos.}

Things I like about the ghd Jewel Styler

{ghd V amethyst / sapphire professional styler}

  • Extra long cord {I certainly don’t want to be tied in a corner doing my hair}
  • Automatic sleep mode after 30 minutes without use. {What if you get a phone call in the middle of your styling session and you are busy gossiping with your girlfriends}
  • Universal voltage {A great plus for those, including me who love to travel}
  • It glides through the hair and makes the straightening task quick and easy.
  • It can create waves and curls as well. So I don’t have to use another hair styler for creating curls.

My verdict:

Either you are born with great hair, or you have ghd.

As they say, there is nothing more precious than a good hair day. Hop over to the ghd website to check out some fabulous ghd stylers and some great hair tutorials.

Note: I was provided the products for review purposes. This has not influenced my opinion.

A random visit to Ikea Tempe and other things

We recently went to Ikea Tempe. It was my first visit to this particular one. We usually go to the one at Homebush. Well, I didn’t even know that there was more than one Ikea in Sydney. We basically went there because the hubster wanted some office furniture and Ikea Homebush did not have stock. Well, Ikea Tempe is massive. They had product varieties which Ikea Homebush did not have.

Whenever I go to any Ikea store, for some reason I always end up feeling hungry. And I love their coffee. I am not a coffee person and I don’t have coffee at home or in a cafe or so. But whenever I go to Ikea, I have to have coffee. Strange!

During this visit to Ikea Tempe, I had strawberry tart, jelly {they did not have my favourite raspberry flavour, so I had an orange colour one}, cinnamon bun and coffee.

Ikea strawberry tart

I think I have seen this one in Homebush as well, although I am not sure. It would be such a delight to sit and apply makeup in front of this.

Alas, I did not buy these mirror and lights. Where would I keep this….

And this Ikea store is located right next to the airport. So while I was in their food court, I sat next to the glass window and watched the aeroplanes parked in their parking lot and take off in close view.

Hello everyone! someone is being shy…

Say hello to Mr Puppet… 😛

Not being shy anymore. Hands up in the air and wishing everyone a happy week ahead!
