Hello Beautiful People,
I spend quite a bit of time in front of my laptop. I love reading, browsing, blogging and the works. Having a dedicated workstation at home not only makes me more efficient but also helps me stay focused.
Today I am giving you a glimpse of my home-office work desk + my new & positive addition to my inspirational corner.
But first, let’s talk how to create an inspiring work space
One of the most important tips in creating an inspiring work space is to Eliminate Clutter – Staying organised is the stepping stone to great accomplishments. Keep your desk organised and your tools handy. You don’t want to run around searching for a pen, do you!
Next, make it YOUR HAPPY CORNER – Your lady cave (or whatever you may want to call it). Give it a happy vibe with colours and objects of your choice. Let it reflect your personality. Dress it up. Make it into that space where your creativity oozes out.
I like my desk with an extra zing of inspiration. I have a favourite quote which is my laptop wallpaper. Every time I open my laptop, I love the way this quote brightens me up. I have been thinking of getting it canvased for a while now.
Recently, the lovely folks at Photobox offered to canvas print any photo of my choice and send it to me, so that I could test out their services. I browsed through my extensive collection of travel photos clicked over the years travelling across the world. I spent hours trying to decide upon that one photo I should get canvased. Well, I seriously have too many photos.
So I asked myself – what is that ‘something’ I would like to see every day as I sit down at my work desk. Something that inspires me. Something that brightens me up. Something that fills my heart with joy. Something that I would cherish in the months or years to come. And I decided, it has to be my favourite quote. I want to get my favourite quote canvased. So I took the plunge.
I have never ordered a canvas online, so this was a first for me. I initially thought that the process might be a bit tedious but to my surprise, it turned out to be quite a breeze.
The Photobox website has a pretty easy interface – functional and easy to navigate. Register – Choose the product you want – Upload the image/s you want. Simple and fuss-free.
You can choose whether you want to have a wrapped image print or not. By wrapped, it means the image continues on the sides of the canvas. I opted for a wrapped image print.
The Classic Canvas is apparently one of their bestsellers and it comes in various sizes. It is printed on polycotton canvas, has 3.8cm wooden frame, is machine stretched and comes fully assembled and with a hanging kit. Mine is a Classsic Canvas – size 30.5 x 20.3 cm.
The website has a cute smiley indicator to let you know if the pixels of your photo are good enough for your chosen canvas size.
Once you finalize your order, it gives you an estimated date of arrival for your order. In my case, there was a delay of around one day (I didn’t even realise it) but the good thing is, they emailed me and kept me updated of the progress. I found that pretty impressive. Once they shipped it, they again emailed me to let me know.
Within a week the well packaged box arrived. I opened it to find the canvas gently encased in bubble wrap so that it doesn’t get damaged in transit.
And wow! It looked LOVELY. I have it proudly displayed at my work desk.
I am pretty impressed with the product quality of the canvas as well as their service quality. Next I am thinking of getting a collage of my Instagram photos.
I am loving the new and positive addition to my inspiration corner.
