Have you ever done timed-shopping? Yay I finally did it! I usually take my own sweet time to do shopping. But when Inorbit team gave me a monsoon fashion challenge, I couldn’t say no. Its always thrilling to try out something out of one’s comfort level. So as per the fashion challenge I had to create a monsoon look. And guess what? The look had to be created within the budget of Rs. 5000 and shopping time only of one and a half hours. Phewww!
And what else? The whole thing was filmed by a crew. If you watch my YouTube channel, then you will know how much camera-friendly I am. But whatever I did, wherever I went the camera followed me. By the way, I’m so thrilled that I’m close to 500 subscribers. How about a giveaway when I touch the milestone?
Inorbit mall, Malad is one of the best shopping malls in Mumbai. It has a wide range of fashion stores and hunting them in a short span of time was quite a challenge. I digged down some of favorite stores like Vero Moda, Only, Elle Fashion, Biba, AND, Citywalk, Mochi, Tresmode, etc to find something suitable for the look I had in my mind. During the hunt, OMG all the pretty maxi dresses really distracted me. But for monsoon I prefer something knee-length or shorter. So shorts, skirts or dresses were on my list.
After browsing through the above mentioned stores, I decided to pick something from AND (Anita Dongre) as I always tend to love their colors, designs and fabric. Moreover the staff at AND was so helpful. When I told them what was on my mind, they got me a bunch of dresses and jumpsuits to my rescue. Isn’t that so sweet! But it took me a really long time to try all of them as all of them were so pretty. I remember trying atleast 5 outfits there. And the latest LIVA collection is amazing.
So after all the madness of shooting, clicking pictures of the store and trials; I finally picked up a bright yellow jumpsuit from AND (Anita Dongre). Yes, yellow.. typical Mango color.. I guess its the Mango effect! Had too many mangoes this year 😛 Next destination was shoes. So from Citywalk I picked a pair of color-blocked sandals with cute bow on it Instead of accessories which I don’t usually wear during monsoon, I opted to buy some makeup of the remaining money left as fashion and beauty goes hand-in-hand when it comes to creating the perfect look. So after a thorough consultation at Clinique store, I got a foundation called Even Better apt for monsoon as it a long stay stay foundation which is not only matte but also good for pimple-prone skin.
Post all the shopping craziness, we had a nice session at the Clinique store where we were introduced to some of their skincare and cosmetics products. It was a fun evening and a very different and thrilling experience.
